What Causes Bow Legs?

Bowleg is a common condition encountered worldwide. This condition is also medically known as Genu Varum. It is a condition in which the knees stay wide apart when a person stands with the ankles and feet together. It is considered normal in children under two years.


Bow legs can be caused by a more serious medical condition, such as:


1. Rickets, a bone growth problem due to lack of vitamin D or calcium.

2. Blount disease

3. Arthritis and Gout

4. Accidents in childhood
