Can Oral Sex Cause Yeast Infection?

Can oral sex cause yeast infection? Yes, if a man performs oral sex on a woman with a yeast infection, he can get the infection in his mouth. This is not very common, but it can certainly happen. Yeast infections in the mouth are called "thrush."

But, various things can cause oral yeast infections. The wrong bacteria getting in that area, can cause yeast to over grow. Thrush is a fungal infection found more often in babies and in adults. Symptoms can include burning of the mouth, itching, soreness and a whitish discharge in the mouth. Other symptoms in adults can include bad breath and throat infections.

However, unless you have a weak immune system, it is very unlikely that you will contract a yeast infection through oral sex.
